THE SOLWAY FIRTH SPACEMAN FINALLY DEBUNKED
The Solway Firth Spaceman photographed by Jim Templeton in 1964 a photograph that has kept many people guessing as to what could it be, To the skeptics it's Jims wife caught in a photographic whiteout of sorts giving her that space man appearance in the background, most researchers came to the conclusion based on the position of the arm it was obvious to them that this was a person with their back to the camera hand on hip caught in a photographic lense flare whiteout.

To the believers it was exactly what it said on the tin it was an alien in a space suit caught on camera
then the circus arrived media attention was drawn to Jim Templeton and his amazing alien photograph and along with it fanciful tales of men in black and the Woomera connection and blue streak missiles the conspiracy ran away with itself and became the folklore we know as The Solway Firth Spaceman.

Then comes along my good self and my attempts at debunking the image once and for all which didn't quite go to plan. In fact i thought i might have found the face of the actual spaceman through his visor using various techniques i gradually began to see more and more facial features, facial features that were not human this came as quite a shock to myself and the few who follow me on social media.
Possibly even ground breaking within ufology to actually find an alien in a 40 odd year old photograph when everyone else had failed to notice that what they were looking at was the real deal an alien spaceman in a space suit? But something in the back of my mind was niggling away saying to me it's fake it can't be real how did Jim Templeton fake this photograph how did he do it?

Here is my theory on how Jim Templeton faked this photograph with the aid of a rubber band and a G.I Joe the most obvious scenario for hoaxing this image he strapped the G.I. Joe to his daughters head using an elastic band that he hid using his daughters hair the reason why the hair is swept forward in the manner it is.

After applying some basic image processing techniques to the photo resulted in the image above. As you can see for yourself that is not the back of a womans head it is in fact a head in a helmet!
The arm that caused all the confusion is a toy arm Jim Templeton just turned the head of the action figure around the body is facing forward but the head is back to front never the less it's still a head in a helmet and previous analysis of the image is wrong, it's not Jims wife caught in a white out it is but a simple hoax using an action figure and an elastic band.

I would also like to point out that i believe that where the arrow pointing to is in fact part of the foot of the doll also pay attention to the band of light across the top of the girls fringe i believe this is where the elastic band is concealed that is holding the figure to the child's head as shown in the images below.
I think Jim Templeton used either this G.I Joe spaceman or something similar as G.I. Joe was around in 1964 also the tin foil type of suit worn by these figures could be the explanation for the white appearance in the photograph.

So there you have it a simple trick played by a man who loved practical jokes amazing what you can do with a camera an elastic band a G.I. Joe and a good imagination.

Below is my full image processing analysis from start to finish i'm sure you will agree that what you are looking at is a doll strapped to a child's head and not a woman caught in a whiteout.
